On assignment at Charleston’s Fashion Week March 17-19, 2010

Charleston Fashion Week 2010

We have been attending Charleston’s Fashion Week for the past several years. However, this year we were on assignment to go behind the scenes to observe the operation involved to run a multiple day event like this as we have been selected to design, plan and produce a similar event in Greenville, SC in the fall of 2010. More info to come!

The Brides Book Magazine Photo Shoot – Columbia SC Botanical Gardens Riverbank Zoo

A vintage peacock theme was the design approach for the March Brides Book Magazine shoot in the Botanical Gardens at the Riverbank Zoo in Columbia SC. As the preferred Lead Event Designer and Event Planner for  U Designs Weddings http://udesignsweddings.com a consortium of experienced, talented and creative event professionals, we designed and styled the shoot. Our focus was the head table, the cake table, ceremony area and assisting with the over all production schedule for the day. The entire U Designs Team was in full force providing their expertise in hair, make-up, videography, photography, culinary and pastry creations.  There will be a  multi-page feature of this shoot featured in the June 2010 summer issue of the Brides Book Magazine  serving NC and SC

Need A New Event Destination?…Check Out Greenville, SC

On a recent business trip to Las Vegas, I was pleased to find a wonderful article that featured this fine city where I am based. I travel a lot and always read the airline publications. It is not unusual to find articles on various cities but what I found so interesting was the amount of coverage they provided. It wasn’t just 2 or 3 pages but a huge spread with wonderful pictures.  The online article doesn’t do it justice so I have found a .pdf version too if you didn’t get to see the spread featured in the US Air 2010 March issue. http://www.usairwaysmag.com/city_profiles/city/greenville/ .  Many of the events we do for clients are in other cities and typically the client has already selected their destination however, in cases where they haven’t Greenville, SC is always at the top of our list for location recommendations for brides and businesses searching for locations to hold their events.  Click here for .pdf of article USAirways_greenville

Non-Traditional Holiday Table

Non-traditional Holiday Table

Holiday Table Design

We were tasked with creating and designing a non-traditional holiday table that could last from Thanksgiving to New Years. The design featured items that could be found in anyone’s backyard, pantry and basement. For example, beautiful mosaic tile squares were used as place mats. Rocks, boxwood hedges, various grasses and even Ramen noodles were found on the table. This design was featured in the G Magazine holiday issue. The article also included our  DIY tips on how to create your own unique setting.
